New hope for obese people
February 03, 2010
Obesity is a multifactorial disease. Many constituents participate in its beginning and development. They are genetic components, metabolic, behavioral factors and even viral infections, among others, Ad-36 human adenovirus infection. Independent of the factors which contribute to developing obesity, it is the consequence of positive energy balance. Constant energy balance of the body results from the balance between energy ‘received’ and energy expended.
These processes are regulated through peripheral signals reaching central nervous system, where the areas receiving the stimuli are brain stem, nucleus arcuatus of hypothalamus and melanocortinal system.
